Radiation Therapy

Severe diarrhea, GI distress and radiation proctitis can be common adverse results of abdominal cavity and pelvic cancer radiation therapy. Patients receiving head and neck radiation often develop oral mucositis. Radiation damages good tissues as well as the cancer, producing toxic inflammatory proteins and cell breakdown products. CASAD™ may bind these toxins and inflammatory proteins in the GI tract and thus might prevent or reduce the associated issues when given as part of radiation therapy.
